About time for another post here and thought I'd share an experiment I just finished.  I like some of the Australian painters, like Ken Knight, and after watching his short demo videos I decided to repaint a painting of mine from a couple years ago that was rather drab and uninspiring.  In doing this I tried to paint with Ken's technique. I'm attaching both the recent reworked painting and the original painting below that.  I think the difference is rather drastic and intend to keep experimenting in this manner.

  1. I like it. More dramatic values and lots more color and color variations. In a painting class I took this winter the teacher recommended working from paintings we had done that we felt were failures and seeing what could be done to make them better pictures. I think this is a great example of how to do that.
