Salmo Pond. Black Earth Creek Redux

 Similar angle to Tom's painting. Watercolor. 11 x 14

Had a nice evening at Salmo Pond to end our painting season for 2021.  I won't set up any new outings until next spring, but, of course, members may wish to get together on their own for winter painting.  Those snow scenes are always great if the weather is agreeable.  Here's what I ended up with from the Salmo Pond outing.

Indian Lake: 2:45 pm to sunset - Wed. November 3rd

Jan Norsetter's painting of Indian Lake October 2018

Fall colors at Indian Lake County Park are always nice so let’s paint there next week on Wednesday, November 3rd.  Start time about 2:45 to 3 pm.  I plan to set up my scene but then wait for late evening (sunset) light.  Meet at either the main parking lot or that smaller lot by the new shelter.  There is, of course, a restroom.  We’ve had many trips to Indian Lake but I think you can always find a different view, or different light/color, or a different mode of painting expression.

Warner Park: Painting from 3:15 - sunset - Tuesday October 19th

Our next painting outing will be at Warner Park next Tuesday, October 19 at Warner Park.  We’ll paint in the afternoon/evening with a start time of about 3:15.  I know we just painted yesterday but I’m trying to catch some good weather and earlier in the week looks the best.

This time we’ll meet in the park area near the lagoon and shelter, and main parking lot (not the lakeshore).  The Park is near the intersection of Sherman Ave. and Northport Dr. on the north side of Madison (See map). They do have restrooms.

Next Painting Date: Tuesday Oct. 12th at Vilas Park (east end) 3:15 pm - ?

This coming week looks to be rather overcast so let’s paint on Oct. 12th (Tuesday) in the afternoon/evening at the Wingra Dam area.  Start time about 3:15. This is along Wingra Drive just east of the Vilas Park zoo parking lot and beach area.  I believe there is street parking and a restrooms at the beach or zoo that I’d expect would be open.
