I got a big surprise on Friday when I picked up the newest Peninsula Pulse and thought I recognized a fellow painter on the cover! Sure enough, her name was on the inside cover and I called her to congratulate her on the nice photo. She had attended a class at Bjorklunden that week. Yes, it's Jan Feyzi!! She was painting the fabulous view from an overlook in Peninsula State Park when a local photographer came by. Hopefully Jan will post some of her paintings from the week.

That's a really great photo ... and not just because Jan is in it. At first I thought it was you, Pat, but then I see she has a paper towel roll under her arm so it must be Jan. Such a nice photo as a remembrance of a painting experience.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty funny that I knew instantly it was her even from the back.
DeleteOh, I almost forgot to mention ... your sketches are really nice too. They really do seem to catch the feeling of shadows and light.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I think I need to do more value studies like this. And it was fun.
DeleteWonderful sketches, Pat!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this, Pat!! The scenery and colors that day were spectacular. I'll try to take some photos of the paintings I did that week and post them.
ReplyDeleteAlso - your charcoal sketches are great! I especially like the building/shed :)
