Here's my painting from the May 6th outing. About 90% of this was done plein air, with some final touches done in my studio. [8"x10", oil on canvas panel] Had a great time!
Yes, Tom, you are right about the shadow. When I first set up, it was pretty early and there were some tree shadows from the right, but those quickly disappeared as the sun got higher. When I got home, it seemed something was missing in the front foreground, so I decided to take some 'artistic license' with the composition.
Now I just need to figure out a way to take better photos of my paintings - notice quite a bit of glare on the top left side.
Really lovely painting. Makes me want to go back there soon.
ReplyDeleteReally nice atmosphere to this painting. I suspect you invented that cloud shadow in the right side foreground. It helps the composition.
