Rescheduled Outing to 10/26

I previously set up a plein air outing on this coming Tuesday, 10/25.  But the forecast now calls for clouds and rain on Tuesday, so let’s switch this to Wednesday, 10/26.  And same place (Indian Lake County Park) and time (about 3pm start).

October 25 - Indian Lake County Park

Things haven’t quite worked out for an outing this week but I’m going to schedule what might be our last outing of the season, considering how the weather has turned.

Let’s paint on Tuesday, October 25, starting at 3pm, at Indian Lake County Park.  The meeting area will be the primary large parking lot and the nearby shelter.  I might bring some firewood and build a fire in the shelter fire pit if anyone wants to hang around a bit after we paint.  There is a bathroom there.  I know we’ve painted many times at Indian Lake but it’s a nice spot and every day is unique, and I can always use another addition to my Indian Lake series of paintings.

Painting at Pheasant Branch (Prairie Parcel) 8am on Tuesday October 11th

Our next plein air outing will be on Tuesday (October 11) in the morning (about 8 am start) at the Pheasant Branch Conservancy. I know we painted there earlier in the summer but that was in the evening and not many painters showed up. So let’s try the morning this time. Afterwards, I’m hoping I can get a few people together to go to lunch at the Craftsman Tap that’s nearby off of M (Century Ave.). The Pheasant Branch park area we’ll paint at is right off Pheasant Branch Road, north of Middleton. There are two parking areas along the road. Go to the northern one (surrounded by fields) not the southern one (see map). There are some areas to set up right by the parking lot or we can walk in a ways near the base of Fredericks Hill, where there are some good painting options. There are no restrooms. There are really nice views from atop Fredericks hill but the path going up there is winding and longer than you'd think it would be. Hope to see you there - Tom Gilbert
