Hauge Historic District Park (be sure to check out Tom's previous post, too)

Hauge Historic District Park, The Old Church; September 26, 2019; oil on board; 6x12"

If you have not had the pleasure of seeing this park do yourself a favor and go there this fall. It's got beautiful views of Blue Mound and the southern Wisconsin countryside we all know and love. Thursday evening was lovely. I finished this one about 6:30pm - so about 25 minutes before sunset.

Had a nice evening at Hauge Park.  I painted a view sort of looking towards the sun but before the sun got too low in the sky.  Various long views at this park.  I will definitely come back when the trees turn colors.

McCarthy Park Cancellation

Upon showing up at last week's scheduled outing at McCarthy Park some of us discovered a huge cross country track event in progress and so we couldn't paint there. This was a source of aggravation to me but then Nan Zimdars send me an email describing how, despite driving to the park and being unable to paint, that she enjoyed the drive in the countryside.  And on the following day because she had all her painting gear already packed and handy, she decided to do a quick painting of the southwest bike trail near her home.  Turned out quite nice and so I thought I'd share it.  Seems like our cancellation wasn't a total loss.
